Case study in detail: heaters for St Pancras International

Sep 12, 2011

Option One:

Eurostar had the option of installing curtain heaters, which would emit warmth to those standing underneath them. The problem? These use 3KW per heater and would be costly to run.

The infrared option:

Eurostar discussed with Green Energy (eu) the option of fitting Redwell heaters into the seating area only. It was proposed that the E-ticket area was also heated from above, as this is the best option for public areas. Heat will radiate down on the people below without posing a hazard to members of the public. The ceilings at St Pancras are 2.77m in height and it was therefore suggested they use the Large Round 600w heaters with an Eco ET04 remote thermostat.
