Case study in detail: fitting Micro Scooters Ltd
If you’re pondering how the installation process works here at Green Energy Innovations, you’ve come to the right place. In this post, I’m going to show you how to install infrared heating into a commercial building.
The products
Following the site visit to Micro Scooters Ltd, we recommended to the company:
2 x Middlewave Standard Panels
2 x Largewave Standard Panels
5 x XLargewave Standard Panels
1 x Longwave Standard Panel
These were controlled by eight ETO5 Plug-In thermostats, plus a TLXRF wireless thermostat for the ceiling mounted panel.
The installation
The following pictures illustrate the positions of the infrared heaters and the areas covered by the infrared rays.
Thanks to infrared rays’ unique ability to pass through glass, the infrared panels in the offices will also heat up the showroom.
The cost
By replacing traditional heating methods with infrared heating, the people at Micro Scooters Ltd were able to reduce their utility costs. Here’s how:
Total area = 137m²
Power to heat area = 7500 watts
The infrared heating system operates for approximately six hours in every 24 hour period. Using a rate of 0.11 pence per hour, the maximum heating bill per calendar month should equate to a reduced price of £73.26.
